-Atoka Business Spotlight-
Atoka Body Shop
If you have the misfortune of an automobile accident, there are
several options when it comes time to get the dents repaired. But if you're
looking for a hands-on approach and a personal touch, Atoka Body Shop, located at 320 Watson Road, would be a wise choice.
“We
put in a little extra time to make sure it's done right,” said co-owner Jeff Abernathy. “We have a good repeat
business. We haven't had any displeased customers. Hopefully that gets around by word of mouth.”

Atoka Body Shop opened for business in
July of 2006. Abernathy and co-owner Paul Lee have a combined 50 years of collision repair experienced between them. And because
they are the only two employees, you can't one of the two repairing your automobile. Both
Abernathy and Paul Lee have been working on cars ever since they can remember. “I've pretty much always been working on something,” said Lee. Abernathy worked for several years under the tutelage of his uncle,
Dan Abernathy, a well-known auto body repair man in the area. Lee
and Abernathy will work on anything from late model cars to antiques.

The building is a sprawling 6,000 square feet, and they also own the lot next to the business, which
will allow the duo to expand in the future. Lee and Abernathy sometimes find it hard to
compete with large corporations in the business. Some insurance companies try to steer business toward companies like that,
but Atoka Body Shop gets its fair share, counting on locals who like the personal tough that Lee and Abernathy provide. “We're owner-operated and we're hands on,”
said Abernathy. “And we always know whats going on with your car because it's just us two that do it all.”
Atoka Body Shop can be reached at 840-CARS.
They are open 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
