Planning & Inspection

The Planning and Inspection Department is dedicated to ensuring the safety of the citizens of Atoka in their homes, workplaces, shopping, and dining destinations through inspections and enforcement of Town building codes and standards.  The Board of Aldermen adopts building standards for the community and Town staff work to verify compliance and provide guidance on projects throughout town.  If you are building a new home or business within the Town limits or regional planning area of Atoka, you can be assured that the latest in internationally-recognized standards are in place to guide the construction process.

Before you build, contact the Town to ensure that you have the appropriate permit applications on file. The permitting process allows Town staff to verify that the plans for building conform to zoning ordinances and safety and property standards before a project begins – helping to ensure a quality project from the start.  If you have questions about a project you are considering, contact Code Enforcement for more information.
